W A X I N G

Waxing is the most common form of hair removal. A warm, resin-based wax is applied to the desired area in the same direction of natural hair growth and removed in the opposite direction against it. Unlike shaving, waxing removes hair from the root or follicle, rather than the surface. This process also removes dead and dry skin cells. Repeated waxing over time causes hair to grow back less dense and finer in texture. For best results, hair should be at least  ⅛ to ¼ of an inch prior to service.

Waxing is not recommended for individuals using topical acne medications. Threading and sugaring are safer alternative methods for individuals with highly sensitive skin.

T H R E A D I N G 

A great alternative to tweezing or waxing, especially for sensitive skin, the ancient hair removal technique of threading uses a cotton thread to remove unwanted facial hair. Thin cotton thread is twisted into a double strand and swept across the skin, securing and lifting unwanted hairs from the follicle in short rows. Threading is gentler on the skin than wax and allows more precise control for shaping eyebrows.

Threading is recommended for individuals using topical acne medications, since it does not remove a layer of skin.

S U G A R I N G

Sugaring is one of the most ancient forms of hair removal. Originating in the Middle East, a 100% natural paste made of sugar, lemon juice and water is applied to the skin against the natural direction of hair growth and removed with it, making it a less painful alternative method. (Whereas waxing is applied with the direction of hair and removed against it).

The sugar, unlike wax, only adheres to the hair follicle and never to live skin cells. It’s exfoliating properties help reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. It’s all natural and hypoallergenic elements make sugaring suitable for all skin types, including the most sensitive. For best results, hair should be ⅛ of an inch prior to service.
